Preparing for junk removal is simple, and a few quick steps will help us get the job done faster and more efficiently. Whether we’re hauling away furniture, clearing out a single room, or emptying an entire house, this guide will walk you through everything you need to do before our team arrives.

Step 1.
Decide What’s Going
Walk through your home or property and identify which items you want us to remove. Separate personal belongings, valuables, or items you want to keep. Clearly mark or group the junk/furniture you’d like hauled away to save time on removal day.
- Put smaller items into bags or boxes for faster loading
- Keep important documents, jewelry, and personal items in a safe place
- Make a quick list if you have multiple rooms being cleared
Step 2.
Clear Pathways & Access
Make sure our crew can safely and easily move items out. Clear hallways, staircases, and driveways of obstacles. If you live in a building, arrange elevator access or notify management ahead of time.
- Move cars so our truck can park close
- Prop doors open if possible for smoother carrying
- Let us know about tight spaces or stairs in advance
Step 3.
Prepare Large Items
Empty out drawers, cabinets, and furniture. Unplug appliances like fridges, washers, and dryers so they’re ready to be hauled away.
- Disconnect water/electric lines before we arrive
- Remove food from fridges/freezers
- Keep fragile parts (glass shelves, doors) separate if possible
Step 4.
Bundle & Organize Small Items
Loose clutter slows down the process. Place smaller items into bags or boxes so they can be quickly removed.
- Use sturdy boxes or contractor bags
- Keep similar items together (books, clothes, kitchenware, etc.)
- Label boxes if needed
